Sunshine Week 2026 is being observed this week. Now in its 21st year, this annual nationwide, nonpartisan initiative highlights the importance of the public’s right to know. After all, “Nothing so diminishes democracy as secrecy.”

With that as context, it’s time to call out Gov. Maura Healey on the word games she plays when it comes to trying to pry loose public records from her office.
